The College of Legal Practice announces partnerships with CIArb, Accutrainee and Flex Legal

Published on 05 November 2021

The College of Legal Practice announces partnerships with CIArb, Accutrainee and Flex Legal to promote SQE preparation courses to the working legal professional.

The introduction of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is intended to improve access to the profession and The College of Legal Practice has designed their courses with flexibility and affordability at the forefront of their minds. As such, their SQE preparation courses are perfectly positioned for those already working in the legal sector who aspire to become a solicitor.

Today, the College announces partnerships with three leading organisations, all of which are fully committed to support the professional development of legal professionals both in the UK and globally.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is the world’s leading qualifications and professional body for dispute avoidance and dispute management. Their members will benefit from the College’s high quality tuition by practising solicitors that is designed for online. They will be able to access the course from anywhere in the world.

Catherine Dixon, CEO of CIArb said:

“I am delighted to demonstrate our commitment to the continued professional development of our members through this collaboration. The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) preparation courses offered by The College of Legal Practice are a great career opportunity for CIArb members hoping to qualify as solicitors in England and Wales. The College’s training is practice focused and offers skill development far beyond the preparation for the SQE.”

The College of Legal Practice’s partnerships with Accutrainee who deliver flexible junior resources to the legal profession, and Flex Legal, that connects organisations to on-demand paralegals and lawyers, offer added-value SQE preparation courses to their junior lawyers.

Accutrainee has gone one step further in their collaboration and is funding some of their own trainees to take the preparation courses with The College of Legal Practice, being one of its preferred suppliers.

Susan Cooper, CEO of Accutrainee said:

“We believe that this partnership will greatly enhance the choices our junior lawyers can make to qualify as solicitors. Supervision, guidance and mentoring have always been incredibly important to us at Accutrainee and we believe that The College of Legal Practice are very well placed to provide excellent support for our trainees and students on their qualification journey.”

James Moore, Flex Legal CTO and Co-Founder, said:

“I’m delighted we have collaborated with The College of Legal Practice to promote their SQE preparatory courses to our paralegals who might wish to undertake the SQE assessments. We particularly like the structure and competitive value of the College’s SQE prep programmes and the one-to-one support embedded in the provision being offered which, to me, was compelling. Flex Legal is committed to promoting these courses and providing  choice and access.”

Giles Proctor, Chief Executive Officer of The College of Legal Practice, said:

“These partnerships are all about ensuring that the career path to becoming a solicitor is a real choice for those who are already achieving and working in the legal sector. On our first SQE1 preparation course this summer, we have seen the work ethic and dedication of paralegals who are absolutely committed to progressing in our profession. They will thrive as solicitors and we are so pleased to be able to support them and others to achieve their career ambitions.”
